Gender + Mobility Initiative

Closing the gender data gap towards equitable urban spaces

What We Do

The gender and mobility project sits at the intersection between research, advocacy, and design

This project seeks to understand the mobility limitations that stem from gender inequities and gendered experiences on the streets. We are examining how gender-disaggregated data can reveal mobility and design factors that address women and non-binary people's needs and experiences.

Our Core Values

Equity

We believe that everyone should have access to what they need to enjoy fulfilling lives. Therefore, urban planning decisions should be made from a structural social justice lens.

Safety

We think that everyone should be able to move along the streets free of any fear or risk of harm (either physical or psychological).

Inclusivity

We believe that the streets should provide equal access to opportunities for everyone, without exclusion or marginalization due to any of people’s identities.
